Thank you for visiting my website and you can read why I started it here.

My objective for the site is the same as when I launched the Kent’s Creative Coast campaign over six years ago, which is to encourage visitors to this part of the world, which lies at the bottom right hand corner of Great Britain and close to France.

I want to encourage people to enjoy a creative activity while they’re here and take home a unique souvenir that they have made. There are many  opportunities to do this, for example; creating a silk screen print inspired by pebbles on the beach at Whitstable at a print studio; producing a woodcut or learning about photography using the Faversham countryside as the source; or creating a glass fused treasure with an artist in their garden studio or at one of the art centres dotted throughout the area. For those who prefer to buy rather than create there are countless places to buy from one of the many talented artists and makers that live here.

You might like to sign up for my e-news to find out about creative activities and happenings that are taking place in Kent’s coastal towns and open spaces, in Canterbury, throughout East Kent and beyond. I also send out occasional information about local artists, makers and writers whose work you might wish to buy.

If you tweet please come and say hello to me at @escapetocreate and @visiteastkent where I regularly update my followers on all things creative in and around the Kent coast.

If you  would like to reach my audience by writing a blog for this site about your connections with creativity and the Kent coast area or are interested in sponsoring the site or my e-news please e-mail me  catriona @ createinkent dot co dot uk.

I started visiting the Kent coast over fifteen years ago, fell in love with the area and the people and the opportunities it gave me to be creative. I made a permanent move here ten years ago. Maybe you’ll do the same?
