Faversham Creek by Nigel Wallace www.whiteonesugar.co.uk

The historic market town of Faversham sits on a navigable creek and just a stone’s throw from the creek you’ll find Creek Creative, the focal point for visual and performing artists and other creative people in the town. Housed in a converted joinery it has studio, exhibition and performance spaces and hosts a variety of events including art exhibitions and creative workshops.

With over 500 listed buildings and a large conservation area plus stunning countryside and creek side walks Faverham is a great place to be inspired to draw or paint or even write a poem or a play. William Shakespeare visited as an actor and we all know how well he did!

The  Faversham Festival – a celebration of music, theatre, arts and crafts takes in June and the town also hosts the annual Faversham International Hop Festival. In 2013 it takes place on Sat 31st August  and Sun 1st  September and provides an opportunity to relive the hop-picking experience with entertainment that includes live music, world renowned street theatre, dancing and colourful processions. Like the hop pickers you’ll have the opportunity to exchange stories, scandals and songs and to enjoy concerts and ceilidhs, exhibitions and craft stalls.
